Jenna Metcalf

Jenna Metcalf is daughter of Alice and Thomas Metcalf. She was conceived when the two met one another while studying elephants in Botswana. At the beginning of the novel, Jenna is thirteen. She has decided to actively start to look for her mother who disappeared from the New England Elephant Sanctuary ten years earlier. Jenna lives with her grandmother, her mother’s mother, but doesn’t remember exactly when she started living with her grandmother. Jenna has tried to talk to her grandmother about finding her mother before but learns that her grandmother had not even filed a missing persons report on Alice because she was afraid of what she might find.

Jenna begins her search by contacting a psychic, Serenity Jones. When Serenity disappoints Jenna by refusing to go to the police department with her, Jenna tracks down one of the men who had originally worked...
