Summary
In Chapter 33, Virgil runs into roadblocks trying to verify whose body was buried ten years ago. He knows a DNA sample should have been part of a state autopsy but eight years of these files, including the one for the elephant sanctuary death, were destroyed when a pipe burst in the state lab. At his office building, Virgil is confronted by Serenity and Jenna. He realizes he might be able to use the blood stained shirt and fingernail he found in it for DNA. Virgil takes the fingernail and shirt to Tallulah for DNA tests. As Jenna watches her manipulate the shirt, she says she is going to throw up and runs from the room. Virgil goes after her.
