Summary

Chapter 21 opens with Leah returning home and finding the prom dress on her bed, her mother had purchased it for her while she was gone. Leah FaceTimes her Mom upset that they cannot afford it and her mother defends herself. They agree to talk later, as Leah finally thanks her. Leah is excited though about the dress, and wearing it thinks of herself as “badass” (210). Anna texts her to hang out and meet at Starbucks. When Leah arrives, Morgan is there as well, and Leah is mad. Anna talks to Leah and asks her just to talk to Morgan, that she wants to apologize, and Leah remembers when they became friends when she was 11. Her father had left and her mother was sad. Anna tries to talk to her, but Leah walks out.
