Summary
In "An Education," Anja travels to Rome with Frank and Tenn and is given the spare room in their apartment. Frank finds Anja’s passport and learns that she turned 17 only months ago, and is five years younger than she said she is. Frank thinks of Testa del Lupo and her transparent bathing suit at Paraggi, and he experiences “a rush of tenderness, an urge to protect her” (171). It occurs to Frank that perhaps “Tenn wasn’t so certain that Anja would make a great actress after all … with Anja for a project, he’d spend less time, or no time at all, with Alvaro” (171).
