Summary
Chapter 15 opens with Leeds thinking about how Willow has them watch movies with the afterlife as a common theme, such as “Ghost” and “What Dreams May Come”. Leeds tells Willow he is not ready to propose to Layla, and Willow asks why he bought the ring if he was not sure. Leeds admits to himself that he sometimes wishes Willow were Layla. Layla finds the engagement ring and decides to give Leeds oral sex as a thank you. Leeds is uncomfortable thinking “Layla thinks she’s pleasuring her soon-to-be-fiancé while I’m pretending she’s the ghost I’ve been slowly falling for” (184). Leeds feels like he is falling out of love with Layla.
In Chapter 16, Willow tells Leeds about scaring Wallace Billings, the previous owner of the bed and breakfast, by moving the furniture and books from one shelf to another...
