Summary
Lavinia awakes from sleep after her nocturnal encounter with the poet at Albunea. She and Maruna, a servant, travel back to Laurentum. On the way, Lavinia makes plans to return to Albunea again. When Lavinia returns home, Turnus visits the family once more. Turnus, however, does not pay Lavinia very much attention, and he is even described as being eager to return home himself. After Turnus leaves, Lavinia makes another journey to Albunea.
While at Albunea, Lavinia meets with the poet once more. The poet takes an active interest in Lavinia, asking her about her life and her religious tasks and duties at home. Then Lavinia asks him about the Trojans. The poet tells her about the events that have befallen Aeneas since he has left Troy, focusing on Aeneas' love relationship with the queen of Carthage, Dido, which ends in her suicide...
