Summary
Mary Queen of Scots' husband was found dead, hanging naked in their garden. She is suspected of his murder. Mary says most people suspect Protestants blew up his home and caught him as he ran out. Scottish preachers declare women should not hold power. Queen Elizabeth, as a woman of power herself, must support he cousin she despises. Queen Elizabeth points out to the Scots the difference between herself, a celibate queen, and their own queen, who has married twice. Mary Queen of Scots ran away from her capital city and married the man who killed her husband, James Hepburn, Earl of Bothwell.
