Chapters 17 and 18 Summary

In Chapter 17, Rose and Dimitri interrogate Sonya. Dimitri points out that Rose has an injury to her head from Sonya throwing Rose into the table, so Rose cleans up the wound and lies down. Rose tells Sydney that she has to go to Lissa while resting in Sonya's bed. When Rose sees Lissa, she is riding in a van with the other nominees, which are traveling to different points to complete their first test. Lissa learns that the test is to use a map and compass to find clues that lead to various locations, which is to test the endurance and reasoning skills of the nominees. Each candidate also receives a cell phone, in case they want to opt out of the test at any point. Lissa starts the hunt for clues after her arrival at the edge of the forest...
