The Telegraph Club
The Telegraph Club is a bar and performance venue that caters to queer women in San Francisco. Aside from being a place where Lily finds a sense of belonging that she has been unable to find elsewhere, the club is the indirect reason for Lily’s budding relationship with Kath. Lily first becomes aware of the club when she spots an ad for a performance there by Tommy Andrews, and the picture of Tommy, which accidentally falls into Kath’s hands, sparks conversations between the two girls about queer love and attraction. Through attending Tommy’s performances at the club and meeting other queer girls and women, Lily gains a feeling of community and confidence that allows her to move forward in her relationship with Kath and her life in general, even after the club is raided and shut down by the police.
