Summary
After the birth of Mary Beth, a resentful Julien resolved to learn as much as he could about Lasher in order to defeat him. As part of this effort, Julien confirmed with a priest that it would be useful to learn the demon’s name, and decided to allow Lasher to possess him to as to gain access to Lasher’s memories. He was given visions of a cathedral at Donnelaith during these possessions.
As the truck driver carries her east across Louisiana, Rowan realizes that she is about to give birth to Emaleth. She asks the driver to stop and lies down against a tree along the side of the highway. She encourages Emaleth not to go to Donnelaith, as Lasher instructed her, but instead to find Michael in New Orleans. Rowan loses consciousness and Emaleth is born.
