Summary

During Gifford’s wake, Michael meets with Ryan, Pierce, and Aaron Lightner to discuss Rowan’s whereabouts. Aaron explains what he knows about Larkin’s research and tells Michael that Larkin wants to take one of his genetic samples. Michael (with Mona’s help) explains that, on the night Rowan disappeared, she gave birth to Lasher and then ran off with him. After the mourners leave, Mona seduces Michael once again, and they sleep in the study. Michael emerges from the study to review Larkin’s reports, and discovers that someone has broken into the room where Mona is sleeping when he returns. Mona is unharmed, and has caught a whiff of a familiar scent—the one attached to Lasher. After Michael takes Mona home, he is greeted with a vision of Oncle Julien, who explains that Michael is the last hope to...
