Summary

Chapter 14 is “My House in Late Fall.” Adam paints his house again during this season, as he has during other seasons. By now, Chloe and Adam are spending too much time together and have lost all semblance of romance. Adam knows part of it is because of the Merrick's Disease, and that Chloe has to hear him groaning out his pain in the bathroom. They both want to quit, but they need the money.

Chapter 15 is titled “A Georgia Peach Orchard, with the Slogan 'Everything's Peachy in Georgia.'” They receive a postcard from Mr. Costello, who says he is fine and suggests they rent out part of the house to help make ends meet.
