Summary

A death in Xiaolei’s building inspires the residents to ask for a reduction on their rent due to the bad luck. She moved out of her farming village to work in a microchip factory, but she was now working on selling rose bouquets. She saves flowers for her favorite customer and he surprises her with his new haircut and appearance. She grows shy as he gazes at her, and she asks him about his career to break the silence. He works in sales and gives her his card to remember him. He leaves his pen as well and his wife comes back to the shop to pick it up. Xiaolei refuses to give her the pen without identification and the woman threatens to call the police.
