New York City
New York City is the most populous city in the United States. Barry and Seema live in an upscale apartment building in the city, and New York City is also the location of Barry’s financial trading firm. At the beginning of the main narrative, Barry flees the city after having a heated argument with Seema. Seema stays in the city during Barry’s subsequent cross-country trip.
Baltimore, Maryland
Baltimore is the most populous city in Maryland. After Barry leaves New York by bus, he briefly stops in Baltimore to tour socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods of the city.
