Summary
Chapter 3 shifts focus back to Barry. He has checks in to a cheap hotel in Baltimore, and then he goes downtown to walk around and see the city. As he does so, he thinks about the first time he ever met Seema. It was at a party hosted by the Bloomberg Foundation. He admired Seema’s beauty and confidence; he impressed her with his wealth and his outgoing nature. Barry walks to a socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhood in Baltimore. He notices a group of people who are on a tour for fans of the TV show The Wire. Barry encounters a young drug dealer named Javon and manages to establish a friendly rapport with him.
