Summary

In Chapter 23, To Love and Be Loved, Mark remembers that Julian woke while Mark was sketching healing runes to Emma's torn back. Kieran had tried to talk to Mark, but Mark pushed him away, noting the two colors of his eyes. He also sees that Kieran's hair is wildly colored, indicating his tumultuous emotions. Over the coming hours, everyone worries about Emma as they do all they can to heal her. Julian, feeling his deep love and concern for Emma, says he wonders if they should stop trying to stop the person who is trying to resurrect his lost love. Julian says he would do the same for Emma, but Mark says it is wrong and that he knows Julian would not take innocent lives for any reason. Mark apologizes for being the cause of Emma's pain, and pledges that he will not leave...
