Summary
In "November," Keila returned to her artwork. As she worked, she thought about Oscar and his attachment to the land. She was unsure why she was "just now starting to worry about the drought," and why she had not previously "understood Oscar's obsession with the weather" (289). She decided to use her art as a way to "be a warrior for the planet" (290).
Claudia wrote a short story which she showed to Olivia. Olivia liked the story, but there was one part of it that disturbed her. Claudia had incorporated the twins' pool accident into the piece, but in the story they died.
Patricia went for her ultrasound appointment. She was pregnant with twin boys. The family was excited about welcoming these new members into their family. One day, Felix stopped at the house to drop off the twins. He made a comment...
