Summary
In "August," Oscar fiercely devoted his attention to the orchard. He wanted to protect the trees, but was unsure he could.
Patricia's nightmares about her rape returned. She thought "this event from her past" was "already dealt with and forgotten" (218).
One day after visiting Happy Crunch, Oscar realized he had to "confess to Keila about the orchard, and hopefully save his own marriage" (224).
