Summary
In "March," Oscar felt hopeful when he heard El Niño would bring "record-breaking rainfall" to Southern California (78). He was so worried about the drought, he dreamt of smoke and fires. Feeling afraid, he drove to his property, Happy Crunch Almond Orchard. After selling his family's former land years prior, he purchased the orchard. The only person who knew about it was his aunt Belinda. Oscar did not want to tell Keila about the land, because she had always been angry about how he handled his previous property. Now he was worried the drought would kill his almond trees.
Lola moved in with Olivia and Felix to help with the twins. She quickly noticed tensions between the couple.
Keila and Oscar avoided "each other around the house," which the sisters did not see as a sign that they were "mending" their marriage...
