Summary

In Chapter 10, when they arrived at the hotel where the fundraiser at which Daria Repina, a Russian dissident, would be speaking Blokhin wanted to sit in the front row. Dominika refused because they would be in the view of news cameras and might wind up on the evening news. Repina was known for her open hate for Putin and had no qualms about speaking against him openly. Although people asked Repina if she feared for her life, she believed Putin could not be hurt because she had become such a public figure. Dominika was surprised how Repina’s words against Russia echoed her own thoughts. It was her anger about the way the people of Russia were treated that had made her decide to be a spy.
