Summary
In Chapter 44, after Larsen talked to Alexandra, he was certain that Harry was responsible for Rakel’s death because she showed him the blood-soaked pants that Harry gave her. She told him she was more than 90 percent sure it was Rakel’s blood. Harry claimed he had knelt down by the body when he visited during the investigation but Larsen knew that was a lie.
When Larsen presented the proof he had against Harry to Winter, Winter told Larsen that he would decide when the case was solved. Winter further angered Larsen by sending him sent to work on the Lysaker case, one that Larsen suspected was just a conflict between drug-dealers. Larsen realized Winter was treating him as he was because Larsen was a better detective than Winter and was threatening him.
