Summary
In Chapter 40, Dagny’s stomach was hurting so badly she was distracted from teaching what was generally her favorite topic, Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre. Dagny’s guard walked with her to the bathroom. The room was empty but when Dagny tried to lock the stall door, there was a hand with a hole in the palm stopping her. Finne had a pregnancy test. The results indicated that she was not pregnant.
Finne was stopped from raping Dagny again when the guard called out to check on Dagny. Finne told her that he would be back. By the time Dagny told her guard Finne had been in the bathroom, Finne was gone. Dagny told the officer that he had to catch Finne or he would come after her again.
