Summary

After Vance leaves, Helen says that she believes Vance will still help them. Helen says that Vance is the type of person who likes to help other people in order to feel superior. Rick feels mortified by Helen’s self-debasement. Rick and Helen return Klara to Chrissie and Josie. Klara, Chrissie, and Josie stay in a hotel overnight. Klara is confident that the sun will heal Josie in the morning, since Klara destroyed the Cootings machine. However, Josie appears to still be sickly in the morning. As Chrissie, Klara, and Josie drive out of town, Klara sees a different Cootings machine in use.
