Kiyiika

Kiyiika is the village that was built over the former home of Kintu. This makes it the main setting for both Book One set in the past, and Book Six set in the present. In Book One, the main estate is named Mayirika, while the village near it is called Kiyiika which is maintained throughout generations. In the present day, Kiyiika is shown to be separate from the modern world and is surrounded by a forest that they believe is inhabited by Nnakato. At the end of the novel, the elders of the Kintu clan complete their ritual outside the village, and where Miisi returns to when his mind is caught between sanity and madness.
