Summary

Book Four begins in Banda, Kampala in 2004 in the Mulango hospital. The attendant is preparing for a family who was surprised to learn that their father was dead. However, the family is adamant that the body is not his, and Kamu’s eye continues to stare on.

Chapter One continues with Issac who is struggling to cope with his wife’s death. He hides her wig before anyone else can see it and throws up as his mind races. He struggles with various traditions, such as flipping the mattress after the death of a spouse, and knows the house is filled with other mourners.
