Maven's Throne

Maven chooses to sit on a throne of Silent Stone. The throne represents his desire for autonomy and his fear of manipulation, as the Silent Stone prevents Samson and other Merandus whispers from altering his decisions. The use of Silent Stone symbolizes the trauma that Maven has experienced at the hands of his mother.

Mare's Earrings

Mare’s earrings are a set of gemstones that she wears in each ear. The stones were given to her by Tramy, Bree, Shade, and Kilorn, and they represent her link to her “brothers in blood and bond” (15).
