Summary
In Chapter 16, Amelia woke in Marc’s apartment. They had grown up together, and he had looked after her when she first came to Montréal. He was a male prostitute who kept himself fit and clean until he gave into addiction. Amelia told Marc that if they were able to find the drugs Gamache had allowed to slip out into the streets, they would make a fortune. He agreed to help her try to track down those drugs.
That night, Marc introduced Amelia to a drug dealer. She roughed the man up and ordered him to tell his supplier that she was “the one-eyed man” (139). She woke the next day in Marc’s room.
