Summary
In "June 27th, 1918—The Irish channel," Bill wakes up at home with his wife, Maze. Usually, she pulls away from him in the morning, but this time she asks him to tell her exactly what happened while he was in France. He tells her, as she strokes his penis, about his experience in France, staying in a Castle and at camp. He ends by talking about escaping the collapse of the dugout he was staying in on the front line. He escaped through a hole in the wall, followed by Leonard Perl, but Leonard was too slow and the hole closed. Bill pulls away from his wife, who tries to console him.
