Chapters 25 and 26 Summary

Liam's dad is making fun of the fact that Liam's school is spending money on the basketball, but shorting the arts' program at Liam's school. Liam's dad doesn't even realize that he's putting down the basketball team that Liam is on right in front of Liam's face.

Liam concludes that Darleen is exactly the person he needs to be friends with. Liam thinks his chance comes when Mr. Mallek assigns Darleen as his lab partner in physics. When Liam doesn't do one part of the experiment right, Darleen makes him do the other part. When he finally gets it right, they only have three minutes left of class, which isn't enough time to finish the rest of the experiment. Liam suggests they write down the numbers someone else got, but Mr. Mallek is right behind Liam and declares that cheating.
