Summary
In Chapter 7, when Harry arrived in Oslo, he first met with Krohn and Røed. Krohn presented the details of the case. The two girls who had disappeared — Susanne and Bertine — were connected only because they had both been at a party hosted at Røed’s apartment. They disappeared on consecutive Tuesdays. Susanne’s body had been located, but Bertine’s had not.
Krohn said Røed would not supply a DNA sample until there was a court order because they believed a willing submission would indicate there were grounds for suspicion. Harry assured both Krohn and Røed that he would investigate the case just as he would have if he were still a police officer even if it ended in Røed being arrested for the murders.
