Chapter 22 Summary

After Roscoe sums it all up for Finlay, he has to agree. Jack picks it up from there, explaining Hubble's position as a currency manager. He helped them to slip the phony money into the system, knowing where it wouldn't be noticed. The air conditioners were just a legal decoy. Then he held up some of Hubble's expense money to the light and examined it closely. None of them could see any difference in the bills. Finlay goes back to the station, asking Roscoe and Jack to meet him back there the next day and Roscoe and Jack go to an anonymous hotel near Macon County. Reacher speculates aloud that perhaps Gray hadn't killed himself at all. Knowing that they killed Joe, Stoller, the Morrison's, Hubble, and Molly Beth Gordon, Jack believes it is a possibility.
