Darren Shan

Darren Shan is the Vampire Prince. He is a teenager and is half-human and half-vampire. He is also the leader of the group in the novel that is on the hunt to find and kill the Lord of the Vampaneze in order to win the War of Scars.

When Darren enrolls in school, he does so under the name of Darren Horston. At the Cirque de Freak, which is not fully defined in the novel, Darren is best friends with Steve Leonard. Now Steve is Darren's enemy. Darren's ex-girlfriend, Debbie, is taken hostage and is one of the people Darren tries to save while also hunting down and killing the Lord of the Vampaneze.
