Hidden Truths

The author uses the theme of hidden truths to demonstrate the importance of looking closely at things in life. Vic is characterized as a "quiet observer" (1) and tries very hard to be a "heart-thinker (14) like his dad. He knows firsthand that so many things in life are not what they seem.
