Summary
This chapter opens with Vic's perspective. Mad and Vic are sitting on the curb outside the Hackensack Police station. It is the present day. Vic and Mad are free, but Baz is still in there. Vic tells Mad that he plans to visit the police station every day until Baz is released. Even though Vic likes sitting next to Mad, he is sad for the future, not knowing when or how often he'll see her since she will be moving to Florida to be with her grandmother. He wants to go with Mad to Florida, but she says he can't leave; not yet. Mad smokes as they wait for Frank, Vic's mom's boyfriend, to come pick them up. Vic called him earlier. Frank drives up.
