Summary

“Scene 16” takes place the Monday after the rainy weekend. It is morning at school when Noah bumps into Andy and Kate in the school’s lobby. After greeting Andy—and receiving an embarrassing response—Noah asks Kate if she will give him singing lessons because he is required to try out for the musical for Senior D. Kate initially resists, because Noah is such a terrible singer, but Noah coerces her into saying she will. They agree to meet on Wednesday.

“Scene 17” opens during the car drive to school on Wednesday. Kate reveals to Andy she is very nervous about auditions, and later that day during algebra she gets angry that her teacher does not have empathy with the theatre students during audition week.
