Summary
In Chapter 13, over the following weeks, Shuli sends more messages through kaddish.com but continues to receive no reply. Miri thinks that Shuli is simply suffering from a bout of delayed grief for his father and that he should seek psychiatric treatment. Shuli dismisses this assessment and decides to enlist Gavriel’s help in trying to elicit a response from kaddish.com. Gavriel goes on that website and finds it strange that it lists no e-mail or phone number. Shuli concludes that the students who fulfill the service must be so religiously devoted that they wish for no thanks in return for their work. Nonetheless, Shuli decides to redouble his efforts to contact Chemi and retrieve the religious rights to his father’s remembrance.
