Earring

The earring is a symbol of both love and betrayal. Christian bought these earrings for Lily for their fifth anniversary. He believes she wears them because she loves him. Lily claims she lost one of these earrings during her altercation with Jake. Later, however, Nina finds the missing earring in her car. Lily later admits to Christian the earring was in Jake’s car because she was having an affair with him.

Rock

The rock is a symbol of self-defense. Lily tells Christian that when Jake came after her, she dug a rock out of the ground and hit him on the head with it. Lily fears she hurt Jake badly or even killed him.
