Importance: After Christian learns what Lily claimed transpired between her and Jake, he tries to come up with all the possibilities to explain why Jake did not go home. He believes that Jake would not have wanted to go home if he had to explain how he had a gash on his head. He also takes into consideration that Jake might have been hurt badly enough that he was not able to go home.
