Chapter Four Summary
Sophie ignores Annabel for a whole week before the single word assaults begin, making Annabel yearn for the silence again. She takes her usual place on the wall just down from Owen who seems to be the only other regular. She begins to watch him surreptitiously, learning a little bit about him in the process. She also thinks about how things changed when Sophie began to hang out with her and Clarke. At first it was subtle. Sophie was outgoing, bold, and loud, opening doors that Annabel enjoyed. She took great pleasure in telling Annabel and Clarke that they were immature, wore the wrong clothes, and should improve their hair styles.
