Chapters One and Two Summary
Annabel Greene lives with her family in a house with one side made of glass. She often thinks about what people see when they look in, knowing that appearances are deceiving. On the surface, they look like any other normal family. From the outside looking in, no one would ever realize how far from normal they really were. Everyone in the family has issues of one sort or another.
Annabel stares at herself on the screen, watching the commercial that had been shot with her the previous April. The director had asked her to imagine she was the girl who had everything. She finishes her pitch for Kopf's Department store citing how the best clothes for the new year in school can be found there. Annabel has had over three months to prepare for the first time...
