Summary

Lucy and Joseph fall into a routine in Chapter 8. They always watch TV and have sex. They never go out. At school, Lucy’s colleagues argue about Brexit. This sparks a discussion between Lucy, who intends to vote to stay in the European Union, and Joseph, who is unsure. Joseph explains that while racist politicians are voting to leave, racism exists everywhere and always will, especially in Europe. Joseph runs into John on the bus. John says he believes leaving the E.U. will enable him to voice his views more openly. Lucy votes to stay. Joseph votes for both sides. After voting, Joseph goes to McDonalds, where he bumps into Jaz and her friend Darcy. Joseph asks Jaz to sing for his song and she accepts the offer. The result of the referendum is that Britain will leave the E.U. Tensions...
