Summary

Amber calls in Chapter 7 to announce she found Emma’s old stuffed animal, Stuffie. Emma is relieved to hear this. After the call, Maddy convinces Emma to take a DNA test to find Emma’s father. Justin sends Emma an e-vite for their date so she can select her preferences. The next morning, Maddy and Emma struggle to use the boat, making Emma realize she underestimated how hard this would be.

Justin notes Emma’s beauty as she approaches his car in Chapter 8. He accidentally spills the coffee he bought her on her shirt, then apologizes for his nerves. Emma reassures him on their way to Justin’s friend Jane’s house. The first part of their date is playing with Jane’s foster kittens. They discuss their parents.
