Summary

In “The Cat From Hell," John Halston, an independent hit man, believed Drogan, the old man who had hired him, looked ready to die. He was shocked when Drogan told him he had been hired to kill a cat. The cat purred in Halston’s lap as Drogan described why he wanted the cat dead. There was a moment when Halston had looked in the cat’s eyes and seen sullen hate. He had believed they were alike in their killer instinct for a moment, but that moment had passed. Drogan claimed the cat had killed three people.
