A College Reunion

The ritual of a college ritual symbolizes the chance for attendees to revisit their past, evaluate the effectiveness and the impact of the decisions they made, and examine the opportunities they may have let pass. The reunion then is a vehicle for looking back, an occasion to assess regrets, grudges, and to put the excessive emotions of youth into perspective. In college, individuals face the challenge of defining their identity, a chance at last to assume responsibility for their own life narrative. The reunion is a chance to match that life narrative against those aspirations, those hopes.
