Summary
In Part 3, Chapter 2, Jillian goes home after work and cries. The narrative then shifts perspective to Amanda. She considers sending an e-mail to Megan to apologize for hurting her feelings. In the e-mail, Amanda would also to reiterate her belief that Megan will continue to alienate people if she does not find help for her mental health. Amanda ultimately decides not to write the e-mail. The narrative shifts back to Jillian, who eats dinner with Adam. Jillian has no money, and she worries about the future. The narrative then shifts to Elena. Internally, Elena recognizes the pleasure she takes in feeling superior to Jillian. Elena views herself as a strong, effective person, and she views Jillian as a week, ineffectual one. This feeling of superiority is the main reason that Elena has continued to help Jillian by bringing Adam to daycare...
