Chapter Eight through Chapter Ten Summary

In Chapter Eight, Ben discovers a local news station is hiring a television reporter. Ben is thrilled, and immediately works on his resume, and finds a photo to send in with it. At lunch the following day, Ben joins Jemima, who is reading about Internet dating as she eats a plain salad. Ben and Jemima decide to go later to an Internet cafe called Cyborg, where people sit at computer terminals and chat online. After work, however, Ben arrives to explain that he has been given a last minute story. He does promise a drink, however, if he gets out of work early enough.
