Summary

Chapter 33 is titled “Labor Fest 2011.” Tim Cullen was in the Janesville Labor Day parade in 2011, and he was amazed to see someone flip him off. There was even more anger directed at Paul Ryan and his family as a young man confronted Paul before the parade and others are shouting out insults against Paul's political practices along the parade route. While some were moving forward with their lives, others were hoping that the Janesville plant would reopen. GM negotiated with the union again that fall. At that point, there were two plants on stand-by status, including Janesville. GM announced it would reopen the other. While some people were disappointed, they hoped that GM would eventually reopen Janesville as well.
