Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Island is where Jane lives. She takes Caleb into her home and has him clear away her backyard. Most of the novel takes place on Bainbridge Island. Caleb and Jane's relationship develops there.

Seatlle

Seattle is the city across the water from Bainbridge Island. This is where Melody lived and where Jane found Caleb. Jane has work appointments in the city also.

Austin

Jane follows Caleb to Austin to rekindle their relationship. Caleb went there because Austin is known for its music scene. It is very different from Seattle's rainy and cool weather. Austin is hot and dry.

Paris

Grace has always wanted to go to Paris and asks Jane to go with her. She wants to see the city before she dies. Grace and Jane enjoy exploring the city and Grace is happy that she is able to enjoy the beautiful city with her friend...
