Summary

Chapter 35 starts with Rosa in Mischa’s room, bored to tears. She goes to her parent’s old home, feels sad, and takes some of the few valuables remaining there. Rosa goes to Jacob’s house to ask him how the radio can be saying the Russians are winning when her whole family has been taken away but has to wait because he is at work. Lina comes to greet her and invites her into the apartment complex. Rosa implies that she believes Jacob is lying in some way or another, which makes Lina mad. When Jacob arrives, after hearing a little bit of their conversation, Rosa tries to leave but sees a uniformed man waiting outside the door. Two guards come into the building as Rosa watches from the outside, realizing that they must be coming for Jacob. However, it turns out that...
