Summary
In Chapter Six, Brendan went to the grocery store bright and early as part of his typical routine. To his chagrin, he ran into Piper. He felt reluctantly attracted to her, but he thought she was a spoiled princess and could not believe she stayed in the dirty old apartment with mice overnight. He told her she should leave town because she clearly did not understand the character and persistence required of residents. However, he wondered if he had perhaps judged her too soon. She said of course she did not, since she had only been there a day. She also said that, if he loved Westport so much, he ought to represent it better.
